Elections!!

Elections around the corner! Is there excitement in the air ? Are the people waiting to grab this opportunity to change the path that US might take ? Will it go with Bush into another Iraqian spiral or be charmed by Kerry's 'cat on the wall' facade ?
I wonder if it is really fair to just have 2 people to choose from (since I guess one Independent does not really amount to anything) The policies of a party really don't seem to dictate the candidate's thinking. Ultimately, the elected one follows his agenda once the mechanics of power establishment for '4 more years' are done with. So why should people even care to vote ? I hear that the youth today seem to show more interest in politics. I am not sure if that makes me more cynical or just plain amuses me.
Indonesia is a fine example of how Youth are changing the way Democracy works. But USA is not as steeped in corruption as Indonesia is, that it requires a major overhaul. It does have majpr issues to deal with: medical insurance, terrorism and oil mongering moguls. Terrorism is pretty much on every man's meal menu. It is the ticket to satisfy personal ambitions and an instrument to manifest the hidden agenda. Putin is using it to recreate the old Soviet regime; Bush used it to attack Iraq; Pakistan is using it to ally with the US (although it seems obvious that they might be the 'haven')
Well, all of them pretty much are rowing the same boat. Which makes me wonder, what Kerry would do with it ? Beat Bush in the Elections ?
We will have to wait and see.
